A journey into the way we experience spaces

Dear reader—

If you told me two or three years ago I would be sitting at a cafe in Dubai thinking of a career change, I would have raised an eyebrow of disbelief. The idea of trying to move into the field? After 15 years in my current? Unthinkable! Even now that I write this, I question my sanity. But here we are, on the other side of the world, exploring an unknown world and rethinking what my long-term plans are.

This newsletter? blog? whatever you would like to call it, is a way to document and share my journey into the field of urban design and sustainability. It may seem like a huge side step plus backflip from my current career, but I believe my skills can be very applicable to this field and newfound passion. Even though this website is to document that journey, be forewarned, the topics won't be limited to this scope. I have quite a few thoughts I want to share from small home experiments to crazy ideas.

I almost forgot to introduce myself. My name is Mahdi. I have been working in the field of user experience for over 15 years. I grew up in the US, but have had the opportunity to live in Canada, Singapore and now, I am setting up camp out in Dubai.

Posts will be posted irregularly, every month or two summarizing what I've been up to, and sharing my documentation any projects. I definitely don't want the blog itself to be a chore and force content for the sake of content. The goal is to keep it real (90's catchphrases anyone?).
